Welcome to La Plassohla restaurant!
La Plassohla is a restaurant located in the centre of Barcelona, on the corner of Via Laietana and Carrer Comtal, on the ground floor of Ohla Barcelona hotel and just steps away from Palau de la Música. The kitchen is open from 12 noon to 12 midnight every day of the week, making it the perfect meeting place for lunch, mid-afternoon tapas, an after-work bite or an informal dinner.
The culinary offering at la Plassohla is a journey through flavours and textures. A voyage through traditions. A trip through other territories, other cultures, in addition to ours. At La Plassohla we propose a sensory journey through different culinary traditions under the form of tapas and small dishes to share. We want La Plassohla to be a welcoming meeting point to discover tapas inspired by places all over the world.
Led by our chef, Martín Rodríguez. Martín was born in Uruguay and spent years travelling and experiencing other cultures. He has been living in Barcelona for more than eight years now, sharing that extensive baggage every day in the kitchen.
La Plassohla restaurant can seat up to 60 diners. The tables are laid out along the picture windows looking out on to Carrer Comtal, inviting diners to observe people going back and forth through one of Barcelona’s most bustling streets from the peaceful setting inside the restaurant.
A table at the bar, opposite the kitchen, gives diners a live view of preparations, mise en place and plating. An exercise in transparency that allows diners to share the progress in the kitchen with all our team.
The restaurant also has a small outdoor seating area on Carrer Comtal.
After La Plassohla, you could visit the Rooftop Ohla Barcelona , where you can enjoy a cocktail while taking in the exceptional views of the city. The terrace is open for diners not staying at the hotel from 7 pm. From October, it is only open when the weather permits it.
La Plassohla and the Rooftop Ohla Barcelona, in addition to Caelis (Michelin-starred restaurant), comprise the Ohla Barcelona hotel culinary offering. All three spaces have been managed and led by Chef Romain Fornell since March 2017.
Romain was born in France and has been living in Barcelona for more than 16 years. He was the youngest chef in France to get a Michelin star when he received his first. In 2005, in Barcelona, he got another star for Caelis, becoming the only chef to receive this distinction in both France and Spain. He is also the driving force behind restaurants like Cafe Turó, Casa Tejada and Tejada Mar.
In 2019 Romain and his associate Hugues de Montfalcon regrouped and branding all the restaurants under one group name: Goût Rouge.
It would be a pleasure for all of us here at La Plassohla to welcome you to our restaurant!!
